Favorite Summer Dresses

Here in Southern California, my grandparents have the most romantic backyard. There are arbors full of star jasmine, a bird bath and humming bird feeders, Freddie the tortoise roams the backyard devouring rose petals, a kumquat tree sits on the patio, and a long swing hangs from the Chinese Elm just below the house. It’s a small oasis in the middle of the hot desert of San Bernardino County. I’ve never been inclined to flit about, ever, but this backyard has me dawning a summer dress and feeling like I am in a Midsummer Nights Dream or some other such romantic Shakespearean play.
