Life Update: Moving to California

Hello from sunny California! It is strange coming back to the state of my childhood after all these years, knowing that it is now my home once again! I am living in the Inland Empire, which is a little different than where I grew up in Orange County, but I am loving the difference! I am in a desert, just north of Palm Springs but also at the foothill of snow covered mountains, so I have the best of all worlds!

I am renting a room for the couple months I have before the wedding, and am now only 10 minutes from Joseph, rather than a whole plane ride away. It’s the best thing ever! I am so happy to just be near him, able to be with him every day, and not have to pull up a facetime call any time I want to talk to him. It is seriously wonderful!

Emotionally it was hard to say goodbye to my friends and family in New Hampshire, and to New Hampshire itself. Packing up my room, hugging family, saying goodbye to my golden retriever, Carson, and saying goodbye to the New England winter…so many hard things. But my excitement and happiness of being near Joseph, and soon marrying him is making it worth all the sadness of the goodbyes.

I am excited for the new life ahead of me here in SoCal, and I am so excited to share that journey with you guys here. I am constantly inspired by the landscapes surrounding me, and can’t wait to take out my camera and capture everything! California is going to be great!
