4th of july celebration
I hope everyone had a lovely, happy, safe 4th of July weekend! My day was spent up at a friend’s lake house with some amazing people. It was 12 glorious hours of lake fun, relaxation, great food, and wonderful conversation…I can’t remember the last time I had such an awesome 4th of July (and all my 4th of July’s have been awesome, except for those I worked retail…haha!)
The historic 1930s cabin is right on the water, and full of all kinds of vintage memorabilia, embossed leather sofas, and taxidermy. It was basically my dream relax spot. The 6 of us there would alternate our time between swimming, eating, talking, swimming eating talking, swimming eating talking…the whole day long. We would take the kayaks and paddle board out to the deepest parts of the lake and swan dive off into the warm waters before heading in for treats like chocolate chip pancakes, ice cream, or tin foil dinners. Murry the pup was there every step of the way, making sure we always had a hand free to pet him.
It all ended with a paddleboard out onto the lake to watch the fireworks. It was the most spectacular finish to the most perfect of days!
