PARIS, FRANCE
PARIS TRAVEL GUIDE | My first time in Paris! It was not what I expected at all, and I can’t even put my finger on why. I think seeing the city in movies and photos is no comparison for actually being there, on the streets, in person, taking it all in.
We only had a few days in Paris, and one of those days would be spent in Versailles, so we had to plan well so that we could do everything.
We did the typical tourist things such as the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, and the Arc de Triumph. The Louvre was huge and intimidating, and we were able to see almost everything we wanted to. The Eiffel Towel was great! We took the elevator to the top; the views were incredible! I actually preferred the views from the top of the Arc de Triumph, though, because you can see the top of the city AND the Eiffel tower on the skyline!
We also did classic Paris things, like stroll through the Jardin Des Tuileries and the Jardin du Luxembourg.
One of my favorite meals was breakfast at Angelina just across for the Jardin Des Tuileries. It is rumored to have the best hot chocolate in the world, so naturally we had to see for ourselves.
This probably has to go down in history as the best breakfast I’ve ever eaten. I can’t say enough good things about the sweet, yet subtle chestnut butter on flakey croissant. AND I can say with absolute confidence that when they say “world’s best hot chocolate”…they speak the truth…
Paris was pretty spectacular, and now that we got all the tourist things out of the way, I’m excited to go back one day and just “live” like the locals.

TIPS:
- Be sure to get a Paris Pass if you know you are going to be visiting a lot of museums! We skipped the enormous Louvre line, and just walked right in! It’s great!
- We didn’t have any issues with pick-pockets, but we also made sure to make ourselves very aware or our surroundings, and not dress/look too American. Be aware of your surroundings, always have a hand on your bag, and try not to look lost.
