The autumn leaves are beginning to shape up in New Hampshire, and I have been hither and yon all over the state on day trips, trying to capture it all.

I have lived in New England for 11 years now, and how is it that I have only just now picked myself up and gone to Acadia National Park? I have no idea where my head has been all these years that I haven’t taken the time to visit this place…but golly did it live up to the expectations!

My trip to Basin Harbor in Vergennes, VT, on the banks of Lake Champlain, was an absolute blast! Basin Harbor had been on my radar for a while now, so when the opportunity to go presented itself, I leapt.

This is one of my favorite places in New Hampshire. I like to call it the “Nantucket of NH”. If you drive through the busy, bustling city of Portsmouth, and across a few bridges, you will arrive in New Castle, a quiet little island town with narrow streets lined in historic homes, and views across the water to Maine.

Zermatt has been a bucket list item for me for a while. I always imagined experiencing it in the winter, but going in the spring was a ton of fun, because the town felt like spring/summer, but once you headed up into the mountains, there was nothing but hip deep snow in most places! Incredible!

I had the opportunity to join family in Switzerland for twelve days in May-June 2019. Switzerland had always been one of the top destinations on my bucket list, so it wasn’t hard to say yes to the last minute invitation.

Portland is a rare small city gem. It is chalked full of delicious restaurants, adorable cafes, and beautiful shops, all mixed into a New England-y style brick city with a large commercial fishing scene…it’s totally unique!

I can safely say that Washington State is one of the more beautiful places I have been to in the US…and I have been to 46 states so far… I don’t know exactly what it is, but it feels like the west coast version of Maine. I felt so at home there, and I’m pretty sure I could live there if I wanted to…and I don’t say that about many places.

Tampa turned out to be a bit of a surprise for me. My family and I planned a trip to visit my grandparents, and I had never been to Florida before, so had no idea what to expect. After some research of the Tampa area, we came up with a good itinerary for our few short days there.

I had so much fun spending a day in Stowe! It had been on my bucket list since I had moved to New England 11 years ago, and for some reason or other, I had never gone. Boy was it everything I imagined! From the Swiss fondue to people wandering in town with their ski gear…it was winter sport heaven.

Winter is one of my favorite seasons, there is always so much to do! One of my favorite cold weather activities is being on my snowboard, so I was super excited when Sunday River ski resort invited me up to Maine to join them for the women’s Holiday Hangover event. 

One of the best Christmas day trips ever is to a small corner of eastern Vermont. Quechee and Woodstock are Vermont gems any time of the year, but especially so in December with all the holiday festivities and decorations! I had been itching all month to get to Woodstock, and it lived up to all expectations and beyond!
