Turkey season is upon us, and despite the crazy year we have all had, there are many things we can look for in our lives to be thankful for. Thanksgiving over the years has been joked about as a time to argue with family, or to overindulge…but these are just terms we use to distract us from looking on the bright side and actually being thankful for any and everything we have been blessed with over the past year. This is a time to celebrate, love, come together in peace, and enjoy the blessings we are given. Thanksgiving is the best!

So this Thanksgiving, even if you are celebrating with a small feast with your immediate family, rather than with a large group of friends and family, let’s make this one really special! The tablescape is one of the best places to start.

This year I went for a peaceful, calm, and relaxing space, while still keeping the festive flare. Pumpkins were a must, so I peppered the table with varying sizes of white and green pumpkins. For the calm, I went very neutral on the colors, with natural linens, cottons, shades of brown and white. For an almost spa-like feel, I added candles throughout the pumpkins, and made sure to have greenery throughout the space.

I also wanted to bring in that beautiful New England countryside feel. The wood print paper chargers and wooden cutting board brought a woodsey vibe, while the antler handle silverware and pheasant plates lent an elegant feel to the table. It feels a bit like Scotland meets New England, which, as you all know, is my vibe.

I hope you all have the most wonderful of Thanksgivings this year. Take the time to reflect on the good that has happened, and everything that you have been blessed in your life. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Please Note: that the beautiful Pheasant plates are by Emma Bridgewater, and are currently out of stock. I have listed her Partridge plate below, and so see the rest of her “Game Birds” collection click here.
