Travel Guide to Stowe, Vermont

IMG_6794.jpg

Tucked away in northern-most Vermont is the small, Alpine-inspired town of Stowe. The Von Trapp Family built their lodge there, and the style took off. Cabins and motels were built with an alpine twist, and now the whole town is a blend of the New England countryside and quaint Austrian chalets. It’s a whimsical, little place.

More than that, Stowe really is New England’s winter playground. The ski resort at Stowe is top-notch, spread over 3 peaks, and absolutely gorgeous! It’s a skiers paradise. If you don’t ski or snowboard, all across the area are many different, fun, winter activities for you to try.

Here is the full guide you need to plan your next winter trip to Stowe.

WHERE TO EAT

The WhistlePig Pavilion - This place smells like cheese the moment you walk in. They melt the raclette cheese in the large stone fireplace in the center of the room, and then pour it over pretzels, meats, and veggies. It’s a little slice of the Alps in Vermont. The Pavilion is located right in the village, to the location cannot be beat. Great for the Après ski lovers.
