Winter Whites

This winter my small town put in an ice rink on the town baseball field. It originally started as an eagle scout’s community project one year, and now the town plans to build and maintain it every year going forward. It’s been fun to see all the local families out on the rink each day, skating to their hearts’ content, and assembling hockey games…the popular sport of NH. The town even started a box where folks could drop off their old skates so anyone without stakes could borrow them for their session. It’s a great little piece of small town living, showing off the best-of-the-best of a small town community. Now we just need to open a soda fountain and it will be downright Mayberry around here!

Today I grabbed my skates and a thermos of hot chocolate, and headed down the hill to the rink for a little skate. To my surprise there was no one else about, and I had the whole rink to myself! So special!

It had just snowed the night before, and everything was covered with a beautiful layer of fresh snow. To match the wintery-ness of the fluffy backdrop, I decided to go through my closet and grab some winter whites to bundle up in for the skate. Creams and off whites are one of my favorite winter looks, and the 8 or so cream sweaters in my closet prove that. Haha!
